Pricing for utilizing the Emerald Spam Shield service is determined by the
total number of unique mailboxes required for all domains on an
account. For example if you have two domains that each host the same 50
users (each user has two addresses; johnsmith@domain.com and
johnsmith@domain.net represent the same mailbox) then the correct pricing would
be 2 domains and 50 mailboxes, not 100 mailboxes.
However if you have multiple domains and each domain represents a unique
sets of users then the correct pricing will include a cumulative total of all
the mailboxes across each of the domains.
There is a minimum of one domain and 10 mailboxes required for each new
account.
We know that everyone has alias accounts for sales, support, etc. We do
not count those. We allow you to have up to twenty alias email boxes in
the system. |

Each account is required to have a minimum of one domain that costs
$0.99 per
month. Additional domains may be added for a flat price of
$0.99 per added
domain per month. This is intended for companies that host multiple
domains for one business entity.
For example if you have 5 users that can receive email in the .com and .net
versions of your domain that is a good example of using multiple domains in a
single account.
Optionally you may setup multiple entities on the same account if they do not
exceed the bandwidth usage of the account. If bandwidth becomes an issue
increase the number of mailboxes to reach your required bandwidth. This
is cheaper as you get the lower cost per mailbox by having a larger number of
them in a single account.
If you have a domain (emeraldshield.com) and you also receive email for the net
version you would add it here. If you have a separate entity (nuco.com)
you should setup a separate account for that entity. |

The Anti-Virus service is a premium option that involves an extra charge per
mailbox in addition to the basic Emerald Spam Shield anti spam filter service
cost. With this option, all email bodies and attachments are scanned for
viruses. This software runs on our servers and is not available for
download. For complete protection we recommend that you purchase and
install a separate anti-virus solution for your desktop machines. |
| * Please Note: Spam Shield Anti-Virus definitions are updated daily, but while most known viruses can be detected and removed from email we cannot guarantee that 100% of all viruses will be discovered. Since computers can be infected with viruses in a variety of other ways we recommend that anti-virus software also be installed locally on all computers to provide maximum protection. |
Bandwidth usage |

Pricing for our anti spam filter service includes a generous amount of
bandwidth. This bandwidth is multiplied times the number of users in your
account.
An example would be around 3,000 emails per user per month (100 per user per
day). If your company routinely receives large attachments or high
volumes of email you will be asked to increase your number of users to reach
your bandwidth level. Remember this is for inbound traffic
only. Your outbound mail does not normally go through our servers unless
you have purchased email archival.
If you know that your company uses a large amount of bandwidth for email
feel free to contact us for a custom price quote. We can even setup
dedicated mail servers for larger customers. |
Excessive bandwidth and denial of service / dictionary attack usage charges |

In the event that your account routinely exceeds the amount of bandwidth
allocated we reserve to right to charge $10 per GB over the allocated
bandwidth.
We would prefer not to have to charge this fee, but we too must pay per GB of
traffic that flows through the servers.
If you exceed your bandwidth usage during a monthly period no interruption
of your service will occur. We do not stop processing if you exceed your
allocation.
We load balance our servers to allow for approximately 4,000 bad delivery /
dictionary attacks per domain per day. If your account is routinely
exceeding this number we will have to move your server to a dedicated box and
will discuss the pricing with you at that time. This is to ensure the
high level of service to all our users. Temporary denial of service
attacks on your domain will be responded to by moving your domain pointers to
another machine until the attack stops. No email is normally lost during
these types of attacks. We want to work with you in these events to help
you understand why they are happening and how to prevent them in the
future.
